Miui ROM for HTC Incredible

Miui is an Android Open Source Project ROM designed by a group in China.  It combines some of the features of iOS with the full functionality of Android and was made available as a ROM for rooted Nexus One and Desire users.

Here’s a video showing off the ROM in action (video is sped up):

Dai323 brought this ROM to the attention of the XDA Developers community (link), and IncredibleDoes ported it to the HTC Incredible (link) while djmcnz created a deodexed version for Nexus users.  More importantly for me, he was able to get help in producing an update zip which translates nearly all of the Chinese language elements to English (link).

So, after installing the IncredibleDoes Miui ROM and applying djmcnz’ update, I have a solid, smoothly running version of this innovative Miui ROM on my HTC Incredible.

The lockscreen lets you go straight to messages or recent calls, and there are many nice wallpaper options besides this one:

Swipe up or down to get past the lockscreen:

My main home screen:

The notification display has horizontally scrollable menu for many handy settings:

Drag and drop to fill iOS-like folders:

Tap the folder to view contents:

Drag apps to or from the dock:

Easy to drag new widgets to the homescreen of your choice:

Pinch the display to see all your homescreens, rearrange them, or add more (up to 9):

I’m back to using Virtuous ROM (personal preference for the look and functionality of stock Android with HTC Sense), but Miui is very impressive!
